OSTIA ANTICA – HALF-DAY-EXCURSION-FROM-ROMELift the ancor!
The old Roman port town that is located only 17 miles away from Rome, about 2 miles away from the coast! You will be able to experience parts of an ancient Roman commercial town that has been excavated only a bit over 100 years ago. Ostia has always depended on Rome until the Christian era started in the 4th century AD.
Today we will visit the necropolis, the dye houses and the cleaners, the large and the small baths, the city center, apartment complexes and the bakery! A lovely 5 hour day which could be extended if you would like to have lunch at the river port or at the beach!
