Main Info
Experience Rome through its flavors in this lively, hands-on cooking class that combines two Italian icons: fresh pasta and the classic spritz cocktail. Designed for travelers who enjoy interactive experiences, this small-group class offers a relaxed and social introduction to Roman culinary traditions in a centrally located kitchen.
Your experience begins with a warm welcome and an introduction to Italy’s beloved aperitivo culture. A professional host will demonstrate how to prepare one of the country’s most recognized cocktails — the Aperol Spritz — explaining the balance of ingredients and the ritual behind this pre-dinner tradition. Participants will then prepare their own spritz before moving into the cooking portion of the class.
Under the guidance of an experienced chef, you will learn how to make fresh pasta from scratch. From mixing and kneading the dough to rolling and cutting it by hand, each step is explained clearly and demonstrated before you try it yourself. The process is approachable, making it suitable for beginners while still engaging for those who enjoy cooking at home.
Once your pasta is prepared, you’ll learn how to create a traditional Roman sauce to complement it. Classic carbonara is featured, with its simple yet precise technique, while vegetarian participants can prepare cacio e pepe, another staple of Roman cuisine. Throughout the class, the chef shares practical tips, ingredient insights, and cultural context that help you understand not only how the dishes are made, but why they are central to Italian dining.
Midway through the experience, you’ll also prepare a second spritz variation, such as the refreshing Hugo, further exploring Italy’s cocktail culture. The atmosphere remains informal and interactive, encouraging conversation and shared participation among guests.
At the conclusion of the class, everyone gathers to enjoy the meal they have prepared together. The dining portion allows time to relax, taste your creations, and share the experience over a final toast of limoncello.
This Spaghetti & Spritz Roman Cooking Experience offers more than a recipe demonstration. It provides practical skills, cultural insight, and a memorable evening centered around food, drink, and connection. Ideal for couples, friends, and families with older teens, the class balances instruction with enjoyment, ensuring that participants leave not only satisfied, but confident in recreating these Italian classics at home.
